A Whole-School Allergy Policy
Every school needs a published allergy policy, owned by a named senior leader and reviewed at least annually.
From 1 September 2026, all schools in England are required to provide allergy awareness training for every member of staff under new statutory guidance, introduced following the campaign known as Benedict’s Law.

What Schools Must Have In Place From September 2026
The Department for Education published its statutory guidance on allergy safety in schools in July 2026. It applies from the start of the 2026–27 academic year and sets out four core requirements for schools in England.
Allergy Awareness Training For All Staff
Training is expected for every member of staff, not only designated first aiders. This is where our training supports your school.
Spare Adrenaline Auto-Injectors On Site
Schools must hold spare adrenaline auto-injectors for emergency use by anyone showing symptoms of anaphylaxis.
Individual Healthcare Plans
Pupils with allergies need an Individual Healthcare Plan, and staff need to understand how to use it.
Schools will also be expected to demonstrate at inspection how these measures have been put in place.
Why Every Member Of Staff, Not Just Your First Aiders
An allergic reaction does not wait for the first aider to be in the room. It can begin in the dining hall, in a corridor, on the playground, during a school trip or at an after-school club — often with no trained first aider present.
That is why the guidance expects a basic level of allergy awareness across the whole staff body: teaching staff, teaching assistants, catering, midday supervisors, office and admin teams, site staff and senior leadership. Everyone should be able to recognise the signs of anaphylaxis and know exactly what to do next.

We come to you. Sessions are delivered on your site, so there is no travel, no cover to arrange and no lost teaching time. INSET days, twilight sessions and staff meeting slots all work well.
Training is led by experienced frontline healthcare professionals who deliver clinical and first aid training every day. From our Battlesbridge base we support schools throughout Essex, Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock.

Do You Deliver At Our School?
Yes. This training is delivered on your premises, at a time that fits your school calendar.
Can You Run It On An INSET Day?
Yes, subject to availability. INSET days are the most popular option because the whole staff body can be trained together. We’d recommend booking early, as demand around September is high.
