A two-day accredited course aimed at those with a duty to respond to a child that is ill or injured, this training would be suitable for registered child carers, nursery staff, schools and sports / leisure clubs, because it is a level 3 certificate it can be presented during OFSTED audits.
The course must be 12 contact hours long excluding breaks and learners must attend the whole program in order that we can then apply for certification from an external awarding body, this course represents excellent value for money as all manuals, course materials, registration and certification are all included in the course fee.
Although the course typically runs over consecutive days it can be split over two weeks to suit your requirements, EMT can provide instructors at the weekend to run this course at no additional cost.
The course syllabus includes the following subjects;
CPR – Adult , Baby and Child resuscitation.
Unconscious casualty – recovery position.
Dealing with severe external bleeding.
Anaphylaxis , allergic reactions.
Common childhood illnesses , epilepsy, diabetes, asthma.
Dealing with choking emergencies.
Head and spinal injury.
Burns and scalds
Bone , joint and muscle injury.
The course has a high emphasis on practical skills, demonstration, practice and there are written assessments on both days, delegates will be provided with the right amount of theory to underpin the practical sessions and our instructors will be on hand throughout to support the learners, as a consequence of this we have a very high success rate.
